The Snymans Caterpillar Foundation brought joy and learning to young learners across South Africa with eco-friendly puzzles and cupcakes this Mandela Day.

July 19, 2024

In celebration of Mandela Day 2024, the Snymans Caterpillar Foundation proudly launched a heartfelt initiative to support young learners across South Africa. Embracing the spirit of Mandela Day, our project brought together the entire Snymans Inc Attorneys family to make a meaningful impact on local communities.

Creating Joy Through Puzzles

Leading up to Mandela Day, our dedicated teams across the country poured their creativity and care into crafting eco-friendly Popsicle stick puzzles. These colourful, educational puzzles were designed to bring both fun and learning to underprivileged Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres and schools.

A Double Celebration

On the 17th of July, we marked Snymans’ birthday by decorating cupcakes. These delightful treats were part of our broader plan to spread joy. On the 18th of July, our teams visited seven schools, delivering the puzzles and cupcakes to the children, creating moments of happiness and connection.

Reaching Out Across South Africa

Our initiative touched the hearts of young learners in the following schools:

- Swellendam: Buffeltjies Dagsorgsentrum, Buffelsjagsrivier (where we also planted three trees)

- Cape Town: Cuddle Care Educare Preschool, Grassy Park; Nurul Adfaal Montessori School, Grassy Park

- Ruimsig: Magalies River Daycare, Magalies; Little Stars Preschool, Ruimsig

- Bryanston: Mpumelelo Day Care Centre, Soweto

- Hermanus: Learn to Lead Preschool, Zwelihle

Going Green: Planting Trees for a Sustainable Future

At Buffeltjies Dagsorgsentrum in Buffelsjagsrivier, our team took an extra step towards environmental sustainability by planting three trees. This tree-planting effort is part of our ongoing commitment to creating greener, healthier environments for future generations. By contributing to the local ecosystem, we aim to leave a lasting, positive impact that aligns with our values of sustainability and community support.

Committed to a Brighter Future

Under the theme “It’s in our hands,” our Mandela Day project emphasised the importance of nurturing young minds and tackling issues of education and poverty. By integrating environmental stewardship into our efforts, we reinforced our dedication to sustainability through reduced paper usage and tree-planting initiatives.

The Snymans Caterpillar Foundation, a registered Non-Profit Company and Public Benefit Organisation is committed to transforming lives and building resilient communities. We believe that through collective action, we can achieve significant positive change.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We extend our sincere gratitude to every member of the Snymans family for their enthusiasm and hard work. Together, we created lasting memories and made a tangible difference in the lives of young learners, embodying the true spirit of Mandela Day.
