At the Snymans Caterpillar Foundation (SCF), we are committed to making a difference through Education, Poverty Alleviation, and Environmental Sustainability. With these guiding values, we proudly launched the SCF Stationery Drive 2024, a heartfelt initiative powered by the generosity of our team and clients.
The drive was sparked by Natro, one of our passionate employees, who identified a need for stationery at a school in Swellendam. With her dedication and the support of SCF and Snymans staff, collection boxes were placed at Snymans offices. The overwhelming generosity of our clients ensured we gathered an abundance of new and gently used stationery.
The next step was distributing these supplies where they would have the greatest impact, leading us across the country to schools and aftercare facilities that serve vulnerable children.
Hermanus – Mama Sorya’s Soup Kitchen
In Hermanus, we visited Mama Sorya’s Soup Kitchen on 14 January, providing 100 children with essential school supplies. Mama Sorya’s Soup Kitchen is more than just a place for a warm meal—it’s a safe space where children receive love, guidance, and support. Every day, she prepares meals and offers a place for kids to do their homework, relax, and stay off the streets. Her selfless dedication is a true inspiration, reminding us that angels walk among us—sometimes, they just don’t have wings.
Buffeljagsrivier – St. John's Primary and Mullersrus Primary
Next, we visited Buffeljagsrivier, where students at St. John's Primary and Mullersrus Primary received much-needed stationery. These schools serve children from underprivileged communities, and the joy on their faces showed just how much these supplies mean to them.
Pretoria – Eersterust Care and Training Centre
In Pretoria, we visited the Eersterust Care and Training Centre, which supports children and adults with disabilities in Eersterust, Eastlynne, and Mamelodi. Many of these families cannot afford the specialized care and resources their children need. Our donation of stationery and supplies was a small but meaningful step in helping them on their educational journey.
Ruimsig – Riverlea Primary School
Our Ruimsig branch continued spreading joy by supporting Riverlea Primary School. Thanks to the SCF team and community contributions, we were able to equip students with the tools they need to learn and succeed. The gratitude from the children and teachers was truly heartwarming.
Bryanston – Golang Preschool
Our Bryanston office visited Golang Preschool, part of the Golang Education Outreach, which was established in 2002 with a vision to uplift and enhance the educational journeys of underprivileged and vulnerable children. Through this partnership, we provided young learners with essential stationery to support their development and education.
Cape Town – Making an Impact in Sir Lowry’s Pass and Gordon’s Bay
Cape Town saw two incredible stationery drops in one week!
📍 Sir Lowry’s Pass Primary School – A big thank you to Engel & Völkers Somerset West for their generous donation and support in equipping these young learners with the tools they need for success.
📍 Starfish Ministries NPO Crèche & Aftercare Centre (Temperance Town, Gordon’s Bay) – Our gratitude goes to Greeff Christie's Gordon’s Bay for their contribution, helping provide essential supplies to children in need.
Together, We’re Making a Difference
From Hermanus to Cape Town, Pretoria, Buffeljagsrivier, Ruimsig, and Bryanston, we’ve seen how small acts of kindness can create lasting change. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who supported the SCF Stationery Drive, these children now have the tools to pursue their education and unlock their full potential.
Our mission to provide hope, one stationery item at a time, reminds us that when we come together as a community, we can create a brighter future for the next generation.
💛 Thank you for being part of this incredible journey! 💛
