Snymans 30-for-30: A Month of Giving Back!

March was a month filled with kindness, teamwork, and community spirit as the Snymans Family took on the 30-for-30 Volunteer Drive!

April 9, 2025

March was a month filled with kindness, teamwork, and community spirit as the Snymans Family took on the 30-for-30 Volunteer Drive! Our goal was simple: each of our six offices would contribute volunteer hours to make a real difference in our communities. We aimed for 30 hours of service—but thanks to the incredible dedication of our team members, we far exceeded that goal, recording a phenomenal 188.29 hours of volunteer work!

Making an Impact Across South Africa

Each Snymans office took on meaningful projects, rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in initiatives that directly benefited those in need. The Snymans Caterpillar Foundation is the vehicle for all this, driving our commitment to giving back. Here’s a look at what our teams accomplished:

Ruimsig: Supporting Those in Need

The Ruimsig Office dedicated their time to The Cradle of Hope in Krugersdorp, an organisation that provides shelter and assistance to vulnerable individuals. The team helped by removing labels from 6,000 tins of food to assist with food distribution. Additionally, a group of women, including one of our CLOs, came together to knit jerseys and blankets for animal shelters and donate clothes to those in need.

Cape Town: Feeding the Hungry & Caring for Little Ones

The Cape Town team stepped up to assist a soup kitchen at the Dutch Reformed Church in Maitland, helping serve 100 Curry & Rice meals to those in need. Additionally, a few members of the team spent time at the Ubuntu Baby Home, which provides care for babies and toddlers. They donated clothes and blankets and, most importantly, spent quality time playing with the children.

Bryanston: A Community-Driven Effort

A team member from Bryanston participated in a Northcliff Rotary Club fundraiser to raise funds for those in need of wheelchairs, which also led to our team assisting a young disabled woman with a legal matter. Other team members sorted and donated clothes through Clothes to Good, while one of our team members and her two daughters made sandwiches and handed them out to those in need in their area.

Swellendam: Meal Preparation for the Vulnerable

The Swellendam team dedicated their time to preparing 92kg of fresh vegetables—including onions, spinach, carrots, butternut, pumpkin, and cabbage—for three soup kitchens in the Railton area. Their efforts ensured that nutritious meals would be available for vulnerable children for at least eight weeks. Additional donations of soup packs, stock blocks, bread, and soup bones further supported the cause.

Hermanus: Growing for Good & Walking for a Cause

The Hermanus team got their hands dirty planting beetroot, cabbage, and spinach for soup kitchens and ECD Centres, ensuring fresh produce for community meals. Additionally, one of our team members, Sophia, participated in the Lighthouse2Lighthouse Ladies Charity Walk, where participants walked 100km over four days to raise funds for charities in the Overstrand area.

Pretoria: Supporting a School for Children with Disabilities

The Pretoria Team volunteered at the Eersterust Care & Training Centre, a school and training facility for children and individuals with disabilities. Their efforts in peeling, chopping, and packing vegetables helped provide nutritious meals for those in need.

Beyond the Numbers: The Power of Giving Back

The Snymans 30-for-30 Volunteer Drive, driven by the Snymans Caterpillar Foundation, was more than just tracking hours—it was about making meaningful connections, fostering community, and using our time and skills to uplift others. Every volunteer effort, no matter how big or small, contributed to a greater impact.

We are incredibly proud of our Snymans Family for going above and beyond in March! 💙 A heartfelt thank you to every team member, family member, friend, and partner who contributed to this initiative.
