We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Snymans Caterpillar Foundation (SCF) Stationery Drive, aimed at making a positive impact in the lives of underprivileged children. Our goal is to collect new and lightly used stationery to provide these learners with the essential tools they need to excel in their studies.
About the SCF Stationery Drive
Education is a core pillar of the SCF, and we are excited to have Natro October, based in our Swellendam office, leading the charge in this initiative. The SCF Stationery Drive focuses on supporting school-aged children from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring they have the basic resources to thrive in their educational journeys.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to Natro for initiating this wonderful drive!
We are calling for donations of the following new or gently used stationery items:
- Colour pencils
- Crayons
- Twist retractable crayons
- Erasers
- Pencils
- Pens (Blue/Black)
- White/colour A4 paper
- Rulers
- Round/blunt-nose scissors
- Sharpeners
- Koki pens
- Flip files (20/30 pages)
- Glue sticks (Pritt)
- Highlighters
- Exam pads
- Sellotape
- Plastic book cover rolls (clear adhesive)
- Colouring books
- Play Dough
- Pencil cases
- A5 hardcover books
- A4 carry folders with stud
Many families struggle to afford these basic supplies. With your generosity, we can help provide these children with the tools they need for success.
Objectives of the SCF Stationery Drive
The SCF Stationery Drive has three main objectives:
- To support as many children as possible with essential school supplies.
- To raise awareness about the challenges faced by children from low-income backgrounds.
- To foster a sense of community and responsibility towards education.
How It Will Work
We will set up collection bins and boxes at all our offices. The drive will officially launch on 1 October 2024 and run through to 31 January 2025. During this period, donations will be gathered, and we will begin sorting and packing items for distribution between 15-31 January 2025.
How You Can Get Involved
- Clean out your cupboards and drawers—donate any stationery you no longer use.
- Encourage your kids to donate stationery they no longer need.
- Spread the word to colleagues, friends, and family.
- Participate in our Lumkile Recycling Drive by collecting empty 2-liter ice cream containers, which will be used to pack the stationery for distribution. Luckily, summer is around the corner, so enjoy some ice cream while contributing to a great cause!
